I am Bittor Alaña Olivares, a Senior Software Engineer from Bilbao, Basque Country. I hold joint Bachelor's degrees Mathematics and Computer Science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as an MSc in Computational Engineering and Mathematics from Universitat Rovira i Virgili. When I'm not doing software, AI or maths, I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking and kickboxing.

I work as a Senior Backend Engineer at envelio GmbH, where we provide software solutions for Distribution System Operators to enable the vision of smart grids. Prior to my role in envelio, I worked for Bystronic Software (formerly Kurago Software), serving as a Full-Stack Engineer, Data Engineer, Scrum Master and Software Architect throughout the years.

My research interests include Deep Learning and Cryptography.
